Wednesday 6/01/16 Santa Cruz to Monterey

The day started leisurely after Ricardo made us a power packed breakfast of pancakes and eggs with some really strong potent coffee. We said some sad good buys to all including Dianne's father a wonderful, 94 year old, very fit, sharp as a tack veteran of the French resistance navy.

We left his wonderful house....

And he rode with us out of town showing off all of the great interesting sights of the area.

.....and now comfortably with Kevin as my experienced guide we headed south toward Mexico.

Monterey Bay in the distance.

The sun came out and we had a cool but beautiful day through several quaint coasta towns toward our goal of Monterey.

.....where again the people of Calafornia were feeling the Bern.....

We arrived in Monterey in time for an afternoon coffee and a great seafood platter for dinner before checking into a hotel for the night. Above is Cannery row made famous by Steinbeck.

.....in the old and as I learned hostoric town which was the first state capital of Calafornia.
